Are rates ready to rise?

Although it isn't likely that mortgage rates will jump dramatically in February, it does appear that we could see rates rise from recent record lows.

The economy is showing strong signs of rebounding, and with vaccines rolling out and the virus numbers starting to fall again we are seeing more of the country reopen. The Biden administration is working on more fiscal stimulus, which pressures rates higher as the bond market sees more debt supply to fund the stimulus plan. The Fed has also said that it would welcome higher inflation, and inflation causes rates to rise. Overall, there are many reasons we could see mortgage rates creep up as we head into February.

If you have refinanced already, as millions of homeowners have, then congratulations!

However, if you have not yet made it a priority for a conversation, we really should talk before you miss out.
